Sign up starts for Labor Day softball tourney

Interested teams that want to join this year’s Labor Day Softball Tournament are being advised to start organizing themselves.

Baseball manager Froilan M. Camacho is organizing the tournament, which is set during the Labor Day weekend from Sept. 4 to 6.

Venue will be announced at a latter date, but the weekend tournament would possibly be held at the Capital Hill ball field.

Slots are reserved only for the first 12 men’s teams and first six women’s squads that will sign up.

All teams that will join are required to pay a 50 percent deposit of the $150 registration fee in order to secure your.

There are no more refunds once the 50 percent deposit is paid. Teams can start turning in their deposits on May 26 and the deadline is on July 31.

The weekend tournament will follow a double-elimination round format where official rules of the Amateur Softball Association of America will be followed.
