SHRM conference this month
The Society for Human Resource Management-NMI Chapter will be hosting an all-day conference on Aug. 14 at the at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s ballroom that will focus on issues impacting the workplace today.
The conference will feature:
-Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente, who will present on ongoing discussions the CNMI Department of Labor has with U.S. Department of Labor regarding the interim final rules, including job vacancy announcements and recruitment requirements and postings.
-Glory Gervacio Saure, director of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Honolulu Local Office, who will present on the “State of the EEOC,” including recent trends, agency updates and strategic priorities.
Gervacio Saure will also present on the “Respectful Workplace” initiative and the agency’s perspectives on sexual harassment, #metoo, and workplace culture.
-Dr. Milton J. Perkins, PhD, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPC, vice president of ActOne Government Solutions, who will discuss employee engagement, managing HR risks, and responding to employee complaints.
The conference will be from 8am to 5pm. It is open to the public.
The presentation includes continental breakfast and lunch buffet at the cost of $50 for SHRM members and $60 for non-members.
