Shirley’s takes top seed in Division A

Shirley’s FC officially secured the top seed in Division A of the Dove Women’s Spring League 2021 following their match last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
With just one match away from the finals, Shirley’s earned the top seed by a landslide with a win-loss record of 7-0 and one draw.
Shirley’s eased past TanHoldings last Sunday with a 9-2 victory further widening the gap for top the seed in Division A.
In its match against TanHoldings, Shirley’s Katrina Costales led the way with her three goals with contributions from Jerlyn Castillo, who added 2 goals, and Jullianne Hall, Fiona Bucalig, and Mae Ito contributing a goal apiece.
Shirley’s secured the lead in the first 10 minutes with back-to-back goals from Hall, Costales, and Castillo.
In the 11th minute, TanHoldings’ Hix Tamia landed a goal in an attempt to catch up to their foes, but Costales came back with two goals in the 13th and 14th minute followed by a goal from Bucalig in the 20th minute.
Aubrey Castro secured the last goal for TanHoldings in the 35th minute of the match before Ito and Castillo finished the game off with another two goals.

DIVISION A
Southern United 5, Kanoa 5
Southern United maintained the No. 2 spot in the Division A rankings after its third draw of the season. The team currently holds a 3-2 win-loss record.
Southern United’s Kaithlyn Chavez showed the way with three goals with help from Britany Wally and Christina Atalig who contributed a goal each.
Meanwhile, Kanoa’s Irish Pagarao carried the team after landing all five of the team’s goals.
DIVISION B
Shirley’s 3, TanHoldings 3
Meanwhile, Shirley’s clinched the top seed for Division B after last Sunday’s match. Following the draw against TanHoldings, Shirley’s holds a win-loss record of 6-0 and one draw and is just two games away from finals.
Southern United 7, MP United 0
Southern United coasted past MP United behind Keisha Deleon Guerrero who landed four of the team’s winning goals with help from Megan Elayda who contributed two and Erin Frink who added one.
Southern United holds the No. 2 spot in the division with a win-loss record of 5-2.
MASTERS
TanHoldings 1, Kanoa 0
Tan Holdings’ Mariquit Chavez carried her team to victory after making the lone goal in the 50th minute of the match. The team currently holds fourth place in the division with a win-loss record of 3-4.
Matansa 2, Paire Team-2 1
Matansa took the win over No. 2 Paire Team-2 last Sunday behind Tawny Barcinas and Bunruang Brasuell who made two goals each.
Matansa is currently third place in the overall standings with a win-loss record of 3-3 with one draw.
