Shirley’s still unbeaten; 4 teams settle for draws

Shirley’s Football Club is still unscathed in the girls U15 division, while the two other matches in the 2017 NMIFA Fall Youth League last Saturday at the Francisco M. Sablan Middle School Fielded ended in draws.

Shirley’s shut down Southern United, 3-0, for the lone win posted in the division last weekend. The defending champion now has a 5-0-0 win-draw-loss record, keeping its distance against the second-running and idle Kanoa FC (3-0-1).

Therize Millare, Katrina Costales, and Katherine Magat scored the goals for Shirley’s, finding the back of the net in the 42nd, 57th, and 61st minute.

In other results, Paire and TanHoldings settled for a draw, 1-1, while the Matansa-MP United duel had the same results, 3-3.

Mary Joy Aniana hit the equalizer for TanHoldings in the 39th minute, while Anisa Villagomez drilled the first goal in the match five minutes earlier.

In the MP United-Matansa tiff, Francesca Bucalig knocked in back-to-back goals for the former to deny the latter the win. Bucalig’s pair of goals came after Matansa built a 3-1 lead off Jannah Casarino’s hat trick. Casarino lit up the board in the 25th, 28th, and 29th minute, while MP United’s first goal (own) was recorded in the 16th off a Matansa’ error. Matansa eventually missed the win when Bucalig converted shots in the 59th and 61st minute.

Edwin Kim, Syler Poon, Sunjoon Tenorio, and Alex Park earned one goal apiece for MP United, which improved to a 5-1-0 mark to keep its distance against Matansa (4-0-2).

TanHoldings 7, Paire 0
TanHoldings is lurking behind MP United and Matansa as the former now has 3-2-1 slate after blowing out Paire.

Kirro Batino and John Colisao registered one goal apiece in TanHoldings’ lopsided win. Other players who scored for TanHoldings were not identified in the match report. TanHoldings drilled five goals in the first half to set up the rout against Paire, which fell to a 1-0-5 record.

Kanoa 3, NDA 1
Kanoa broke into the win column after downing the National Developing Academy.

Sebastien Manabat, Andruw Omelau, and Ian Karl Maniago posted one goal each to give Kanoa its first win in six games (one draw and four losses). Joshua Galarion logged the lone goal for NDA, which dropped to a 2-0-4 slate for fourth place in the team standings in the six-squad field.
