Shirley’s FC notches twin wins

Shirley’s FC started its pair of wins with a 5-0 demolition of Matansa Football Club last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field. Jeraldine Castillo and Grabrielle Race registered two goals each in Shirley’s dominance of Matansa, while Kiana Atalig scored the other one and also the first in the match as she hit her target in the 20th minute. Race made the next two (28th and 52nd minute), while Castillo closed out for Shirley’s with two straight goals (76th and 81st minute).
Castillo also recorded two goals in Shirley’s FC’s 3-2 win over MP United in a make-up game last Monday night, while Negahr Rastguiy drilled the other one. Michelle Kautz and Karleen Reyes posted one goal each for MP United with the former lighting up the scoreboard first with her conversion in the sixth minute. Castillo then equalized in the 18th minute before and Shirley’s FC managed to steal the upper hand off Negahr Rastguiy’s goal in three minutes into the second half. Castillo made it a 3-1 advantage with her second goal in the 52nd minute, while MP United moved within one a minute later off Reyes’s shot, but Shirley’s FC hung on to keep the win.
In other results last Saturday, Kanoa FC, Independents FC, and MP United shut out their respective foes.
Melody Johnson notched a hat-trick to lift MP United to a 3-0 victory over Tan Holdings FC. Johnson begin her string of goals in the 17th minute and her last two goals were posted in the 36th and 47th minute.
Kanoa FC also beat Tan Holdings FC with Jeralyn Castillo scoring the lone goal in the match, while Independents FC edged Paire FC.
Meanwhile, the squads bagged easy wins in the M-League last Sunday also at the Oleai pitch.
In the first match, Inter Godfather’s whipped Matansa, 5-0. Jin Seok Se gave Inter Godfather’s two goals, while Ropati Tonu’u, Peter Houk, and Arkie Reusora contributed one each.
In the second game, Paire cruised past Kanoa, 4-1. Tosh Nicholas had a pair for Paire, while Joel Fruit and Jake Lee chipped in one apiece. Kautong Omengkar scored the only goal for Kanoa. The victory over Kanoa came four days after Paire stunned Tan Holdings FC, 3-2. Robert Green connected the go-ahead goal for Paire in the 41st minute, while Tosh scored the first two. Sean Perez and Russell Zapanta had one goal each for Tan Holdings.
In the third game last Sunday, Wild Bill’s got a free win via forfeiture against MP United.
