Sex offender is arrested again for alleged abuse of a boy, 15
A registered sex offender was arrested in Kagman III on Friday night for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy since last month.
Jose Albert R. Santos, 53, was served with an arrest warrant for two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, two counts of indecent exposure in the second degree, two counts of assault and battery, and two counts of disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $50,000 cash.
Preliminary hearing will be on Oct. 28 at 1:30pm.
Police detective Rhonda C. John said the investigation started when a woman called the Department of Public Safety on Oct. 5 about a sexual abuse case.
According to the boy during John’s interview last week, the abuse began early this year when he went to Santos’ house to get a stick of cigarette.
Santos allegedly told the boy to follow him inside the bedroom, where he then allegedly raped the boy.
John said that Santos only stopped when a neighbor, also a 15-year-old boy, knocked on the front door. When Santos went out to check on the door, the victim escaped through the bedroom window.
The most recent incident allegedly happened last Oct. 3 when the boy used Santos’ restroom. Santos allegedly performed oral and anal sex on the boy. The boy shouted for Santos to stop, then pushed and punched him. The boy then ran out of the house.
The boy stated that Santos had been sexually abusing him since September this year at the suspect’s house and would give him $2 to $10 after each incident.
John said she interviewed Santos last Thursday and that he denied performing anal sex on the boy. Santos, however, allegedly admitted he had oral sex with the boy because the boy asked for it.
Santos pleaded guilty to sex abuse of a child on March 18, 1998, and is a registered sex offender.
