Several electronic items stolen in WSR school burglary

The William S. Reyes Elementary School in Chalan Kanoa was burglarized last Feb. 6, 2021, Saturday, and several flat-screen televisions were stolen, as well as a school projector and a BOSE brand speaker.

According to a Department of Public Safety news release, DPS received the 911 call last Friday, Feb. 8, 2021, at about 8:04am, reporting the burglary and theft incident.

At the scene, police officers met with one of WSR’s staff members who was reviewing the school’s surveillance cameras, which showed an unknown individual on the camera recording. According to the timestamp of the camera the suspect was seen at about 2:29am on Feb. 6, 2021, wearing short pants, a T-shirt, and covering their face with a piece of cloth.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect broke into one classroom that is also connected to another classroom. The second classroom was left in a state of disarray. After a quick inventory of the second classroom, items missing include several flat-screen televisions with remote controls, a school projector, and a BOSE brand speaker.

DPS would like to remind the public to be diligent when purchasing electronics from unknown individuals.
