‘Sets for Pets’ v-ball tourney this weekend
The 2nd Annual “Sets for Pets” Beach Volleyball Tournament will be held this weekend at the Crowne Plaza sand courts.
The co-ed 4 vs. 4 beach volleyball competition will serve as a fundraiser that will benefit Saipan Cares for Animals and Boonie Babies Foster.
Along with the volleyball event, puppies will be present and ready for adoption to anyone interested.
The event will have one open division and individuals 15 and older are welcome to participate.
It will be held at the Crowne Plaza sand courts on Saturday, July 16, starting at 8am. All participants must pay a fee of $10 to join. Registration ends on Friday, July 15.
It is “a fun event for the community to help raise awareness and funds for a cause… We’re looking to have as many participants as possible.
The more the merrier. We want this event to be something everyone in the community can come out and enjoy as well as support animal rescue, adoption, and welfare efforts on-island. It’s a great opportunity to have fun, learn more about Boonie Babies, and make a difference. There will be about 20 dogs and puppies total up for adoption,” said Boonie Babies to Saipan Tribune.
In the first “Sets for Pets” beach volleyball tourney last year, Da Misters topped the tourney against 14 other teams.
According to Boonie Babies Saipan co-founder Grace Keilbach, the fundraiser raised over $2,000 last year for the Saipan Cares for Animals to spread awareness about stray dogs on Saipan.
