Senior All-Stars set carwash fundraiser tomorrow
The CNMI Senior League All-Stars will be holding a carwash fundraiser today from 8am to 5pm at McDonald’s Middle Road.
Proceeds of the carwash will go toward the team’s trip to Guam where they will compete in the 2012 Senior League Asia-Pacific Regional Tournament next week in Hagatna’s Paseo Stadium.
The team will be washing cars all day Saturday inside-and-out for only $10; outside or inside-only cleanings are offered for only $5 and, naturally, any additional donations are always welcome.
In addition, team manager Derron Flores wanted to thank all of the parents and supporters of the team, especially Juan Santiago Tenorio; Naked Fish Bar & Grill, and everyone who turned out for last Thursday’s happy hour and raffle fundraiser; Pretty Market and the rest of Hen Qi Li Corporation; Mar-Pac and Coca-Cola; KKMP; Commonwealth Pacific International; Lisa Sablan and Sablan Top Line; and everyone who contributed to the team’s coin drive.
Flores confirmed that the team’s airfare expenses have already been covered, however the team still needs funds to help cover accommodation, transportation, and miscellaneous daily expenses such as food and drinks.
“I am very appreciative that so many people came out to show support for the team. My players have been working very hard to raise funds and have been putting in a lot of work on the practice field as well. We are going over there to compete and give it our all,” asserted Flores in a phone interview on Wednesday.
The team is expected to depart for Guam with the CNMI Big League All-Stars on Monday, July 2, and should have time to get in some practice and be well-rested for July 4 opener.
The CNMI Senior League All-Stars include Cedric and Davin Ada, Steven Cabera, Frankie Camacho, Keoni and Khobby Kaipat, Francisco Lieto, A.J. and Jeffrey Lizama, Davie Matagolai, Austin Piteg, Henry Rabauliman, Talyor Sablan, Raymond Saralu, Lancaster Secharmidal, and Jonathan Villagomez.
Flores fronts the crew with head coach Isidoru Camacho and assistant coach Walter Macaranas.
Anybody who would like to donate to the team before they set off can contact Flores at 989-0619 or Macaranas at 483-9258.
