Senate confirms Faisao, Tenorio
The Senate confirmed the appointment of Melvin Faisao as a member of the Northern Marianas Housing Corp. board of directors and Janice A. Tenorio as a member of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board of directors during a session on Tinian last Friday.
All nine senators voted for the confirmation of Faisao and Tenorio. Sens. Paul A. Manglona (Ind-Rota) and Edith E. Deleon Guerrero (D-Saipan) appeared at the session via Zoom.
Faisao’s term will be determined upon the organization of the NMHC board of directors. He is a former member of the House of Representatives and former secretary of the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.
Tenorio will serve a four-year term. She is a former chairwoman of the Board of Education.
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios appointed Faisao last Jan. 29 to serve on the NMHC board of directors representing the third Senatorial District (Saipan).
Torres and Palacios appointed Tenorio last Jan. 25 to serve on the CUC board of directors representing the Third Senatorial District (Saipan).
The Senate Committee on Executive Appointments & Government Investigations chaired by Sen. Francisco Cruz (R-Tinian) recommended the confirmation of Faisao and Tenorio.
