Senate committees’ leadership appointed; Tinian delegation organized

The Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation of the 22nd Legislature is already organized, with Sen. Francisco Q. Cruz (R-Tinian) elected chairman.

Cruz informed Senate President Jude U. Hofschneider (R-Tinian) that Rep. Patrick H. San Nicolas (R-Tinian) was elected vice chairman of the legislative delegation during the first organizational session last Jan. 14. Sen. Karl R. King-Nabors (R-Tinian) was elected floor leader and Hofschneider was elected legislative secretary.

Meanwhile, Hofschneider appointed Sen. Vinnie F. Sablan (Ind-Saipan) as chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Procedures and Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications.

Sen. Justo S. Quitugua (R-Saipan) was appointed vice chairman of the Committee on Rules and Procedures. It’s not clear yet who is the vice chairman of the Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications.

Hofschneider appointed Sen. Victor B. Hocog (R-Rota) as chairman of the Committee on Fiscal Affairs, and Quitugua as vice chairman.

Quitugua was appointed chairman of the Committee on Resources, Economic Development and Programs, and Committee on Health, Education and Welfare. It’s not clear yet who is the vice chairman of the two committees.

King-Nabors was appointed chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, Government, Law & Federal Relations, with Sablan as vice chairman.

Cruz was appointed chairman of the Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations, with Hocog as vice chairman.
