SEDA fetes top performers

The Saipan Electronic Darts Association gave out hundreds of trophies along with plaques, medals, and other certificates to the best teams and players in the eight divisions of the Bud Light Darts League.

Members and other players of teams that participated last season along with their families, league officials, and sponsors packed the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan yesterday.

The best players in the eight divisions of the Hi In and Out, and Top Gun darts events were the first to receive their awards. Ladies, Kingfisher C, Chichirika C, Thursday Flame Tree, Thursday Fanihi, Tuesday, A, and Masters were the eight divisions.

Valerie Naputi (Ladies, 158) led the winners list of the Hi In awards and was joined by Guru Iguel (Kingfisher 152), Franky Kim (Chichirika, 160), Frances Magofna (Flame Tree, 160), Richard Santos (Fanihi, 160), Chris Omnes (Tuesday, 160), Boom Cruz (A, 170), and Pam Ybanez (Masters, 170). Magofna (Ladies, 97), Jeff Sablan (Kingfisher, 112), Jess Sablan (Chichirika, 120), Hank Magofna (Flame Tree, 157), Aran Mendoza (Fanihi, 152), John Cruz (Tuesday, 130), James Tudela (A, 155), and Jhun Lambon (Masters, 160) were the recipients of Hi Out award.

Naputi (Ladies, 39.19) also won one of the Top Guns awards. Other winners in the same category were Kevin Alexander (Kingfisher, 42.84), Patrick Rotap (Chichirika, 49.74; Tuesday,, 53.03), Joey Songsong (Flame Tree, 50.15), Tony Castro (Fanihi, 51.03), Boom Cruz (A, 57.38), and Gilbert Gatmaitan (Masters, 72.59)

The league awarded, too team members with Mr. and Ms. SEDA trophies, which were given to individuals who regularly play every week. Alexander and Joker Camacho received the Mr. SEDA award for each playing four times a week, while Reina Reftang was named Ms. SEDA for seeing action three times.

VFW Bull It (Ladies and Chichirika), Naked Fish Re-Darts (Kingfisher), Naked Fish Dartaholics (Flame Tree), Franken Dart Crafters (Fanihi), The Venue Lupeyt Boyz (Tuesday), Franken Drunken Warriors (A), and The Venue Calamity Fun (Masters) took the Sportsmanship awards.

Named most valuable players of the season in the eight divisions with the highest winning percentages were Michelle Olita (Ladies, 90.4), Swiper Ongiil (Kingfisher, 99.9), Rotap (Chichirika, 94.1), Songsong (Flame Tree, 100), Joker Camacho (Fanihi, 97), JR Vito (Tuesday, 100), Alfred Hocog (A, 97.8), and Gatmaitan (Masters, 100).

The league also promoted several players with Rotap, Adrian Montalbo, Orly Paconlan, Bobby De Leon, Manny De Gracia, and Manny Bahillo moving to B flights. Alexander, Ongiil, Derick Ayuyu, Chris Sablan, Duke Malakai, Kenneth Kaneshi, Arnel Banzagale were also promoted to the B division, while Songsong, Leo Itaas, and Tony Castro improved to A.

The Nipa Hut Exquisites (Ladies), The Venue Parakeyu (Kingfisher), 6JMS Scorpions (Chichirika), Jonny’s Serial Killaz (Flame Tree), 6JMS Bandits (Fanihi), Lupeyt Boyz (Tuesday), 6JMS Mafia I (A), and Oleai Nakayoshi (Masters) were the Bud Light Cup champions.

The Exquisites also topped the Ladies division’s regular season to join other classes Parakeyu (Kingfisher), 9 Eleven Knights (Chichirika), Serial Killaz (Flame Tree), Mafia II (Fanihi), D’Strikers (Tuesday), Ridin’Dartty (A), and Mafia (Masters).

The division runners-up were The Venue Momshies (Ladies), 6JMS Hite’em Up (Kingfisher), Nipa Hut Shot (Chichirika), Drillers (Flame Tree), D’Strikers 2 (Fanihi), Xecutionerz (Tuesday), 101 Proofers (A), and Nakayoshi (Masters).

Hot Mess (Ladies), Ridin’Darrty C (Kingfisher), Beach Flukers (Chichirika), Ridin’Darrty (Flame Tree), 80 Proofers (Fanihi), Lupeyt Boyz (Tuesday), Dragon Masters (A), and Pythons (Masters) were the third place teams.
