Second win for MP United, Matansa

Monroyo) MP United and Matansa blanked separate foes at the Hopwood Junior High School Field last Saturday to notch their second win in the girls U15 division of the 2012 NMIFA Youth Spring League.

Matansa played in the curtain-raiser and downed Tan Holdings, 2-0, while MP United had a similar shutout win over Paire, 4-0, in the second match.

Maile Aldrich made both goals for Paire to give her team a 2-1-2 win-draw-loss record in the five-team field. Aldrich broke into the scoreboard early when he found the back of the net in the third minute and then got her second goal in the 57th. With her two goals last Saturday, Aldrich has collected five so far in the season.

MP United’s Negahr Rastguiy now has three goals after making a pair in their rout of Paire. Rastguiy drilled the first goal in the game in the opening 45 minutes and then had another one in the second half. Gabrielle Race also scored in the second half, while Seoung Hyun Lee nailed the other goal for MP United, bringing the latter’s total to three this season.

MP United improved to a 2-3-0 slate to remain in second place behind the undefeated Shirley’s FC. The league-leading Shirley’s owns a 3-1-0 card and has the most goals scored so far in the league with 15, five of them coming from Alexa Vergara. Diana Maniacop has earned four, while Kyla Ito and Marielle Gariguez has chipped in three and two, respectively.

Other players who has drained at least goal this season are Matansa’s Patricia Santiago (2), Paire’s Kayleen Salle (2), Adela Saralu (1), and Mikaela Duenas (1), and Shirley’s Elaine Enriquez (1).

For the teams total, MP United and Matansa have scored eight and six, respectively, and Paire has gained five. Only Tan Holdings FC has yet to make a goal this season.
