Police served on Saturday an arrest warrant to the second suspect in the beating of a man and damaging his vehicle outside a bar in Garapan in the early morning hours of Dec. 1.
Bradley DLR. Palacios, 20, was arrested in San Antonio/Afetnas on charges of assault, assault and battery, criminal mischief, disturbing the peace, and minor consuming alcohol.
At yesterday’s hearing, Superior Court associate judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $10,000 cash bail for the defendant’s temporary release.
Preliminary hearing will be on Dec. 29 at 9am.
Police served the arrest warrant to Palacios’ co-defendant Kevin I. Esteves, 21, on Thursday night in Garapan on the same charges.
During Friday’s hearing, associate judge David Wiseman imposed a $500 cash bail on Esteves.
Palacios and Esteves were arrested shortly after the incident, but were later released as police then conducted further investigation.
Police said the victim, John Hamilton, sustained a swollen and bruised right eye and lip. The driver’s side window of Hamilton’s Nissan pickup truck was damaged.
Police said preliminary investigation showed that Esteves and Palacios beat up Hamilton outside Ace Pool Bar after he refused to shake hands with Esteves.
The victim later managed to run and hide in the same building. The suspects, however, then threw rocks at Hamilton’s truck, shattering a window, police said.
