Second free NMC information session today

The Northern Marianas College will be hosting its second free information session on today, July 27, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the college’s As Terlaje campus in Room D-1.

This information session is for working professionals (including all government and private sector employees) and those who wish to attend college after delaying enrollment (did not enter college in the same calendar year that he/she finished high school).

Individuals who did not attend the first information session hosted last Wednesday, which drew a crowd that filled NMC’s largest room, will also be able to learn about the college and the different educational and professional development opportunities available during this session.

In addition, other important topics will be presented including flexible class schedules for working professionals, short-term certificate programs, and financial aid options. The college will also be discussing a program that offers a 50-percent discount on tuition for government employees who are ineligible to receive other scholarships.

Participants will also be able to meet NMC faculty, staff, and students from the different degree and certificate programs at the college, as well as Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions, and ask questions.

Those who attend this session will also qualify to have their application fee and their placement test fees waived for NMC’s upcoming fall 2012 semester. This represents a savings of about $75.

The college is also reminding new students who have not applied for admission that the deadline to apply for admission to NMC for the fall 2012 semester is next week Tuesday, July 31, 2012. For more information about NMC’s fall 2012 registration and semester, visit www.nmcnet.edu.

NMC offers several degree and certificate programs, including a bachelor of science degree in education (emphasis on elementary education, early childhood education, special education, or rehabilitation and human services), associate degrees in business, business administration (emphasis on accounting, business management, or computer applications), liberal arts, nursing, natural resources management, criminal justice, and hospitality management. Moreover, it offers short-term certificate programs in different vocational, academic, and professional areas.
