Search team finds body of Wesley

Search and rescue team recovered at 3:18 this afternoon, Saturday, the body of Timothy Wesley, a 16-year-old boy who jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue two young girls who were swept by rough waters and waves in the cave at Forbidden Island on Friday.

Department of Public Safety police spokesman Travis Hurst said the body of Wesley was found underwater 15 to 25 feet away from the cave area.

Hurst said Wesley’s body was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center where a doctor pronounced him dead at 4:47pm today, Saturday.

On Friday, Paul Michael Murphy, 32, recovered his two daughters, Heaven and Hadassah Murphy, ages 8 and 6 years old respectively. Heaven survived, but Hadassah died due to drowning, police said.
