Search for missing US service member

SANTA RITA, Guam—A search is being conducted for a missing service member off of Pagat Point in Mangilao, Guam.

During the afternoon of Nov. 20, Guam Fire Dispatch received a report of a missing swimmer in the vicinity of Pagat Point, Guam. Guam Fire Dispatch reported the call to the U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Sub-Center Guam.

USCG Sector Guam is coordinating search efforts with multiple resources to include a helicopter, several Guam Fire rescue boats, the 110-foot patrol boat Assateague, and a 45-foot response boat. Guam Police Department is also doing shoreline searches and investigating on scene. Searches have been ongoing since the initial report.

Anyone having information regarding the missing swimmer is asked to call U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam at 671-355-4824 or hail U.S Coast Guard over VHF-FM Ch. 16. (USCG)
