PALAU—The search continues for a missing crewmember from the Panama flagged cargo ship Beagel1 approximately 210 nautical miles south-south-east of Palau.

Searches have been conducted by both aircraft and vessels since the evening of Dec. 19. Search resources have included Beagel 1, U.S. Navy P-8 aircraft from Kadena Air Base in Japan, tank ship Gaslog Chelsea, and tank ship Gaslog Savannah. Both the Gaslog Chelsea and

Gaslog Savannah participate in the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue System, or AMVER, a voluntary program in which merchant vessels around the world have signed-up to be called upon to provide assistance during maritime distress. (USCG)
