Search for missing swimmer off Tumon, Guam

SANTA RITA, Guam—Coast Guard Sector Guam is searching for a missing swimmer off of Tumon, Guam.

Gaum Fire Department reported to Coast Guard Sector Guam a distressed swimmer in Tumon Bay at 6:18pm, Tuesday. The swimmer is reported to be a male in his early 20s, wearing black swim shorts and a black shirt. Also involved in the search effort are Guam Fire Department, Guam Police Department, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC-25), Coast Guard Station Apra harbor, Coast Guard Cutter Assateague, and a Naval P-3 Aircraft out of Kadena Air Base Japan.

Search efforts are continuing.
