Search continues for missing seaman off waters of Palau

PALAU —The search for a 24-year-old man, who was seen falling overboard from the motor vessel Beagle 1 on Friday, continued yesterday.

Motor vessel Beagle 1, Palau patrol boat PSS President H. I. Remeliik, and a US Coast Guard C-130 long range search and rescue aircraft from Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii searched the waters 224 nautical miles southeast of Palau yesterday for the man who has been missing and is believed to have been in the water now for four days.

Those searching have reported that winds in the search area are gusting to 30 knots and seas are at 6 feet.

US Coast Guard Rescue Sub-Center Guam continues to plan and coordinate the multinational search effort, which is expected to continue today. (USCG)
