Search concludes for 2 missing lobster divers near Anao Point

SANTA RITA, Guam—The search for two missing lobster divers in the vicinity of Anao Point has concluded after they were safely located yesterday afternoon.

During the morning of June 29, 2015, watch standers at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam’s Rescue Sub-Center received a report regarding two males that had not returned from their dive. The two missing individuals are reportedly a 19-year-old male and a 52-year-old male who went lobster diving Sunday at Anao Point.

Coast Guard Sector Guam coordinated the search efforts of multiple resources to include: a helicopter from U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two-Five, a rescue boat from Guam Fire Rescue, and a rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Apra Harbor.

During the early afternoon of June 29, 2015, the two missing divers were safely located at the bottom of the hiking trail in the area of Anao Point. No injuries were reported. All responding agencies have been stood down from the response. (USCG)
