Before the crack of dawn, around 70 runners and walkers alike came together at the Garapan Fishing Base in support of Saipan Seventh-day Adventist School’s 9th Annual 5K Hope Run Fundraiser held last Feb. 25. Proceeds from the event go towards the Hope Run Scholarship, which aids several students attending SDA School.

At 6:30am, runners and strollers whizzed past the starting line. Ava, a kindergartener at Saipan SDA School, commented on the hardest part about participating in the 5K, “for me, the hardest part was finishing the race. It was really tiring.”

Ronald E. Villafria won the race with a time of 22:23 and was followed by Luke Doss, Tania Tan, Therize Millare, Eric Mahinay, Ariel Lansangan, Warren Creed, Marielle Lopez, and Christie Bou.

Saipan Seventh-day Adventist School would like to thank the following for supporting the fun run: AON Insurance, Cafe Mangosix, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Goris Missions, Hardt Eye Clinic, Hyatt Regency Saipan, IT&E, Island Apparel, JC Tenorio Enterprises, Inc., 89.9 JOYFM, Java Joes, Kanoa Resort, Laolao Bay Golf & Resort, Mariana Resort & Spa, McDonald’s, National Office Supply, Pacific Islands Club, Powerade, Saipan Seventh-day Adventist Clinic, Transamerica Corporation, We Just Clicked Photography Co., and White Coconut Computer Services.
