SCS, WSR make debuts in All Schools

Saipan Community School and William S. Reyes Elementary School made their debuts yesterday in the Public School System All Schools Track and Field Championship at the Oleai Track and Field.
In the 60m boys 9U, Saipan Community School’s Lennox Sablan topped the field with a time of 12:01, followed by William S. Reyes Elementary School’s Calen Cabrera (12:38) and SCS’ Kastle Haberman (12:66).
In the boys 12U, Ioane Camacho (10:84) was the lone runner as other participants were seeing action in the 2020-2021 NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League.
In the boys 200m 9U, SCS’ Joshua McDonald finished first with a time of 42-45 followed by two other Tsunamis—Ryan Jun (45:59) and Haberman (45:82).
Only two runners saw action in the boys 12U age group with Camacho finishing first with a time of 39:03 with fellow Kingfisher Jonathan Vargas coming in second in 46:49.
Marq Hernandez and Vargas of WSR both ran alone in the boys 9U and 12U 800m, submitting times of 4:18 and 4:58, respectively.
In the long jump, Haberman leapt the farthest in the boys 9U at 2.6m, followed by Hernandez’s 2.5m and SCS’ Ryan Macaranas’ 1.95.
In the 60m girls 9U, SCS’ Maria Haberman was the fastest with a time of 11:89 with WSR’s Menzie Elieisar (12:62) and SCS’ Lily Lim (13:56) coming in second and third. In the 12U age group, Kingfisher Shacey Sablan was the lone runner and completed the sprint in 12:26.
The 200m girls 9U saw Haberman and Elieisar coming in at 1-2 again with times of 44:43 and 45:06, respectively, while Sablan was all alone anew in the 12U and crossed the finish line in 44:15. Haberman made it a sweep in the 800m, as she ran alone and completed the course in 4:04.
In the girls long jump, Lim was the lone participant in the girls 9U and recorded a 2.15m jump. There were no participants in the girls 12U long jump.
The Public School System All Schools Track and Field Championship is being held in coordination with Northern Marianas Athletics.
