Scheduled power outage on Oct. 25
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, from 5am to 10am.
The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely interconnect primary lines of Feeder 2 distribution circuit and the CUC Power Plant 2, in Lower Base.
This is part of an ongoing systems improvement project to strengthen and harden the integrity of the power distribution system throughout Saipan.
Areas to be affected include the Puerto Rico Industrial Dr., Petroleum Ln., Commercial Port Av., Harbor Ln. (Smiling Cove Marina, U.S. Army Reserve, Seaport, Shell Marianas, Mobil Oil Marianas, and Saipan Stevedore), and Lower Base Sea Plane Ramp PI. (CNMI Division of Fish and Wildlife and Saipan Submarine)
The S-3 wastewater lift station will be affected.
Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
