There will be a scheduled power interruption tomorrow, Aug. 16, 2019, from 2pm to 4pm.

The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely install a new air break switch on Capital Hill near the Department of Finance. This is part of the Super Typhoon Yutu restoration to strengthen and harden the integrity of the power distribution system throughout the island.

Areas to be affected include Capital Hill (Governor’s Office, Legislature building, Retirement Fund building, CNMI Office of the Homeland Security, 1300 Block, Miller Estate, Savanah Road (Wireless)). No water wells will be affected nor any wastewater lift stations.

Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.
