SCC, MVA, HANMI to hold joint meeting with Delta Air Lines
The Marianas Visitors Authority, Hotel Association of the Northern Marianas Islands, and the Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be holding a joint board meeting tomorrow, July 23, at the Saipan World Resort, starting at 11:30am.
The joint meeting will feature guest speaker Jeff Bernier, Delta Air Lines’ managing director, who will discuss operational updates, promotions in Japan, and other matters.
Bernier is the managing director for Asia Pacific for Delta and has overall commercial responsibility for all portions of Delta’s P&L in the Asia Pacific region outside of Japan.
Bernier covers China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Guam and Saipan, Palau, and Australia as well as other general sales agent territories in Asia.
He became Delta’s managing director in May 2012.
Bernier joined Northwest Airlines in 1994 as a business analyst with Information Services at the corporate headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota. He moved to Asia in 1996 as a senior analyst in revenue management – Pacific Division.
Bernier has served in positions of increasing responsibility, including manager for revenue management in Japan, director for Eastern Japan Sales, and director for Japan Sales and Trade Relations. He was promoted to managing director for Japan in June 2007 and to the position of managing director for the Pacific Sales and Affairs for Delta in November 2009.
Bernier serves as vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and a board member for Tokyo English Life Line, a non-profit community service organization.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Saint Olaf College in Minnesota and resides in Tokyo with his family.
