The Saipan Billiards Association held its awards banquet last Sunday at Pacific Island Club’s Charley’s Cabaret, honoring teams that excelled in the last winter-spring 2016 season of the Thursday and Tuesday leagues.
Five Jokers Bar & Grill-sponsored teams led the Top 3 finishers in both leagues with the Homeboyz taking the Thursday title and the IT&E Voyagers claiming the Tuesday crown. The Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West broke the monopoly after coming in at second in the Thursday division.
The Docomo Hustlers duplicated the Wild Bill’s crew’s runner-up finish in the Tuesday league. Jokers completed its domination with National Alamo Car Rental and Destroyers bagging third place honors each in the Thursday and Tuesday leagues.
Alamo and the Jokers StraightBlackBall continued Jokers’ success after being crowned the Budweiser Cup champion in the Thursday and Tuesday leagues, respectively.
Jonny’s Bar-backed squads Team SCS and Titans earned the Sportsmanship awards in both leagues, which celebrated its 21st year. Both leagues have two seasons every year.
Meanwhile, sign up is ongoing for the upcoming Summer-Fall season set to start in July. Doro’s and The Warehouse are the new bars that will sponsor teams in the coming season.
