Satiric sonnets

This trilogy of satiric sonnets is dedicated to Dr. Eileen Rosenberg, formerly Sister Marie Jose, my homeroom, French language, and English teacher at Notre Dame High School, in Elmira, NY, from school year 1963 to 1966. She has inspired me for more than 50 years. I had the wonderful pleasure of reconnecting with her over the holidays. My inspiration here comes from two French lyric poets, quoted below. Thanks, Eileen, for opening the worlds of philosophy, literature, peace, love, discipline, tolerance and understanding to me. With all my platonic love, merci beaucoup, Eileen.
 
Chump Trump Kicked out of the ‘Dump’

Florida’s I am, bigly man at Mar-A-Lago
from the White House ‘dump’ I come
got kicked right out the door on my bum
can’t compare with that guy from Chicago.
 Believe me I didn’t like it in DC much either
my Jersey golf courses were too far away
hard to reach when I gave tweeting a breather
now I drive a golf cart right out to the fairway.
 European allies heard to say, “This guy is insane.”
Chinese copy me, “Making China Great Again”
I’ll tweet for an hour more and go golfing then
Putin’s KGB rats and tactics are hard to explain.
 Gotta new smart phone ring with cathedral chimes
it repeats, “No Collusion” a total of sixteen times.

 I was assailed with questions by the Grand Jury
a messy memory of which I’d rather not recall
by him who formerly led the FBI without worry
gaining information from email and phone calls.
 I flipped info, a sheep sheared, three bags full
other witnesses cried to their lawyers for days
I cried mercy mercy too, wiping my own eyes
the Special Counselor means business after all.
McMasters, Mattis, and Kelly, all generals three
along with many lawyers participate in the stall.

obfuscation and distraction in Congressional halls
now the real media listens and begins to realize
the victims of a Kremlin / Capitol Hill compromise.

 Closed hearing testifying in the District of Columbia
as temperatures drop to zero my blood pressure rises
information on bank accounts in Malta and Crimea
I start to pay attention to what my attorney advises.
 The entire 2016 Presidential campaign it seems to me
was a chaotic internecine mess from start to finish
with huge bundles of international money laundry
multiple examples of collusion they can’t diminish.
 Blondie bling thing suffered from lack of knowledge
about most everything but bankruptcy and real estate
surprised about the strength of the electoral college
he really liked the simplicity of Make America Great.
 Though in actuality the narcissist reality TV show star
increased national division and made people hate.
