Salvosa is 2017 Miss Teen Pusong Pinoy
Chloe Hazel Anne Salvosa was crowned Miss Teen Pusong Pinoy last Saturday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Royal Taga Hall of Saipan World Resort, beating out 11 other candidates to take home the tiara.
“I thank God for this blessing, this second chance that He gave me. I thank the people that supported me in this pageant,” said Salvosa.
Salvosa, who is a junior at Marianas High School, said that her advocacy as Miss Teen Pusong Pinoy is educating the youth about being environment friendly.
Salvosa took home $800 and a free six-month scholarship from Saipan Music and Dance Studio. She also won the Spirit Award and Best in Evening Gown trophy.
First runner-up Jenalyn Tinio took home $500 and the Best in Talent award.
Second runner-up Samantha Francisco took home $300 and two special awards: Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic.
The runners-up will also have six-month scholarship from Saipan Music and Dance Studio.
Crystal Fiona Manipon took home the Miss Charity trophy for her help with fundraising, and Katrina Guevarra took home the Star of the Night award.
“Pusong Pinoy means wanting to help people, to care for people, and to share. Pusong Pinoy is a Filipino attribute of always looking to make things better for the good of the family/community” said United Filipino Organization president Marlon Regaton.
SueAnn Huevos, Kristen Joy Razon, Stephanie Lagunero, Angela Banez, Nina Ritz Manzon, Christine Anne Noble, Grace Anne Vendiola, and Erika Lansang were the other contestants.
The panel of judges were Miss Teen CNMI 2001 Gina Duenas, Miss Teen CNMI 2004 Divana Manglona Dela Cruz, Miss Marianas Teen 2016 Palanga Blas Taimanao, Stellar Marianas national director Ping Deleon Guerrero, and MHS principal Cherlyn Cabrera.
