The Salvation Army in the CNMI opened their soup kitchen yesterday.

According to Pastor Wayne Gillespie, they were able to serve 76 meals.

They were only open until past 3pm yesterday but Gillespie said that starting today, they will be serving the public meals from 12pm to 5pm every day until further notice.

Soup kitchens will be held at the Salvation Army office on Beach Road, across the street from Hopwood Middle School.

“Anybody can walk in,” Gillespie said.

Gillespie also encourages those who want to donate for the soup kitchen to do so. He says they will be accepting cash donations.
