Sally, Borja lead Golden Boot race
Matansa Football Club’s Angelica Sally and Paire FC’s Guinevere Borja are tied for the lead in the race for the Golden Boot award in the girls U15 division of the ongoing 2015 NMIFA Youth Spring League.

As of March 21, Sally and Borja has collected nine goals apiece to lead 18 others, who has earned at least one goal each after six weeks of competition.
Sally was scoreless in her first two games for Matansa, but made it to the board in the team’s next four matches. She got two goals apiece against Paire FC and Tan Holdings, four versus Kanoa, and one over Shirley’s FC.
Borja, on the other hand, found the back of the net four times in the Paire’s first five games. She then earned her most goals in a single game in Week 6 after tallying a hat-trick in Paire’s 4-1 upset of the second-running Tan Holdings.
Joining Sally and Borja in the Top 5 are Shirley’s Diane Maniacop, MP United’s Gillian Villagomez, and Tan Holding’s Chloe Salvosa. Maniacop has earned seven goals, while Villagomez and Salvosa have six apiece.
Other players who have bagged multiple goals in the spring season are Paire’s Renita Fleming (5), Tan Holdings’ Mary Kay Alferos (4) and Chevy Kate Alipio (4), Kanoa’s Princess Alcantara (2), Matansa’s Bernadette Horey (2), and Shirley’s Katherine Magata (2) and De Jana Muna (2).
MP United’s Franchesca Bucalig has one, along with teammate Maureen Doculan, Shirley’s Mia Carreon, Jerlyn Castillo, Katrina Costales, and Jobelle Tabuena, Tan Holdings’ Lovely Loyola, and Kanoa’s Raenna Ramarui.
Meanwhile, Shirley’s leads the team standings, pending results of last weekend’s results.
The division leader holds a 4-2-0 win-draw-loss record, the same mark Matansa has, but prevailed in the tiebreak due to its 15 goals against the 11 of Matansa. Paire is at second place with its 3-0-2 slate, followed by Tan Holdings (2-0-4), MP United (2-0-4), and Kanoa (1-0-5).
