Are you an aspiring author? Do you have a book idea? Have you always wanted to write and publish “The Great Marianas novel” or memoir, a non-fiction “how to” manual, or book of poetry or photographs? Or do you need to establish yourself as an expert in your field with a book to your credit? Well you can, and it’s easier than you think!

Walt Goodridge is author of over 20 books in each of these genres. His books have been used as texts for university courses, as guides by other coaches, and his ideas have been quoted in books by “Guerrilla Marketing” guru Jay Conrad Levinson, music industry pioneer Chuck D, and other business authors worldwide.

Goodridge has written several books about Saipan including Jamaican on Saipan, Chicken Feathers & Garlic Skin: Diary of a Chinese Garment Factory Girl on Saipan, Saipan Living, Doing Business on Saipan, Saipan Now: a photo adventure, and From Bugle Boy to Battle Ship: a Battle of Saipan Veteran’s Memoir. He has also coached, edited, or “ghost-written” other books including When the Walls Came Down by Ken Greene (a 9/11 memoir), Rucksack to Briefcase by Chief Raymond (a military to civilian-side transition guide), The Boy Who Dreamed to Be With His Parents on Saipan and GermStopper Boy by local CHCC nurse Riza Ramos, and guided them from idea to Amazon sales!

During this lively, interactive three-hour workshop, Goodridge will share tips and step-by-step instructions on how to start a book project, overcoming “writer’s block,” the best and worst times to write, editing your book, and how to tell when it›s ready.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, from 9am to 12pm, at the Joeten Kiyu Public Library’s Pacific Room. Admission is $10 in advance, and $12 at the door (RSVP if planning to pay at door). Twenty percent of door proceeds will be donated directly to the library on the day of the event!

Seating is limited. To prepay and read more, visit www.saipanliving.com/workshop, or if using Paypal, “Send” $10 to workshop@saipanliving.com. Students pay $5 in advance or at the door; bring ID. RSVP and email questions to walt@saipanliving.com.
