(Walter Cepeda Sutherland)  Saipan’s Pam Ybanez and Jun Olita dominated Guam’s Elijah Jones and Joe Jordan, 8-1, to win the 2nd Marianas Shootout Tag Team Dart Showdown held at Charley’s Cabaret at Pacific Islands Club on Sunday.

The Saipan-Guam tiff concluded the Saipan Electronic Dart Association’s 2011 Summer/Fall Bud Light Open League awards banquet.

Olita and Ybanez were each presented with trophies and split the $200 cash prize.

The best-of-15 event featured an array of game types.

Olita and Ybanez took an early 2-0 lead by each taking a singles cricket match. Then they went up, 4-0, after a pair of singles 501 games.

The Saipan duo then won a team random cricket contest and a game of singles Half-It before Team Guam finally avoided the shutout.

Team Saipan answered swiftly after the loss with a Team 701 victory and Olita clinched the crown in the ensuing singles cricket match.

The teams were made up of SEDA and Guam Electronic Dart Association players.

All four competitors were specially selected to represent their respective islands by finishing this past season as the Top 2 ranked players in the individual statistics.

SEDA is currently making preparations for its upcoming 2012 Winter/Spring Bud Light Open League.

The deadline to register is Feb. 4.

Then league organizers have scheduled an all-teams’ meeting at 7pm on Feb. 11 at Jonny’s Bar & Grill.

The upcoming season is slated to start on Feb. 13.
