Saipan Marathon scheduled for April 19

The 9th Saipan Marathon is scheduled for April 19.

The annual event will include races in half marathon, 10K, and 50K courses, as well.

Early registration for the 50K and marathon is $55 for U.S. and CNMI participants, and $45 for half-marathon and 10K participants. Early registration must be made by March 7. An additional late fee of $10 will apply to registrations submitted after March 7. The last day to register for the event is on March 14, at 5pm. Once registered, runners will gain entry to the awards banquet and get a finishers t-shirt and a certificate of completion.

The race will start at the American Memorial Park at 4:30am for the 50K and the marathon, at 5:45am for the half marathon, and at 6am for the 10K. This year’s event will implement a cut-off time for both the full marathon and 50K. The cut-off time will be 9am at the halfway point.

All competitors are required to pick up their race packets on April 18, at 4pm.

Last year’s Saipan Marathon draws over 700 participants. Saipan’s Mamiko Oshima-Berger (4:11:02) and China’s Shingo Bamba (3:55:36) ruled the women’s and men’s 50K races last year.
