Saipan Marathon 2019 has been set for March 9 and will again include 10K, half marathon, and full marathon courses

Registration for the event has been launched by the Marianas Visitors Authority in Japan.

“We see the tremendous potential to grow Saipan Marathon, which is why we are starting promotions and registration earlier than ever for the 2019 race,” said MVA acting managing director Martin Duenas. “Especially, Saipan Marathon is now certified by the International Association of Athletic Federations through the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. It’s a great opportunity for participants to qualify for other marathons around the world.”

The international registration fee for the full marathon (ages 16 and older) is $90 and for the half marathon and 10K is $60. For U.S. and CNMI residents with valid photo ID showing proof of residency and will register by Feb. 8, the fee for the full marathon is $55 and $45 for the half marathon and 10K. The registration fee for U.S. and CNMI students with valid photo ID showing proof of residency will be $30. Fees increase after Feb. 8.

Participants who register by Feb. 8 will be included in the official race booklet. Registration will include the awards banquet, a finishers t-shirt, and a certificate of completion. The deadline to register is March 6.

The race start will start and finish at the American Memorial Park. The cut-off time for the full marathon will be at 8:30am. There iarathon or 10K. All competitors will be required to pick up their race packets on March 8 at AMP without exception. Team/group pickup will be from 3-4pm and individual pick-up will be from 4-6pm.

Online registration will be announced shortly and entry forms will be available at the MVA office located on Beach Road in San Jose. For more information, visit www.mymarianas.com or contact MVA community projects specialist Ed Diaz at 1-670-664-3210 or at ediaz@mymarianas.com. (PR)
