The SLLBI, headed by its president Benjamin Jones Jr., held a meeting on Saturday at McDonald’s Chalan Laulau and discussed details of next month’s opening, including the three crucial dates for the league.
The SLLBI wants all of its members to mark Dec. 3 so they could attend the final general membership meeting at 5:30pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium pavilion. Jones is requesting all managers or their respective representatives to attend the meeting since failure to do so will mean that their team will be dropped from the Little League program.
“I encourage all managers to attend the meeting. If you’re not present or failed to attend the final meeting before the season starts, your team will be cut off from the program. I am giving emphasis on a no show, no team policy,” said Jones.
The SLLBI will then hold an umpires meeting on Dec. 5 at 6pm with the venue yet to be confirmed. The association will meet with the umpires to make sure all the Little League rules are in place and properly followed for a smooth flow of the games.
The SLLBI board has also reserved Dec. 6 as player registration day and they would assist managers and coaches in registering their players.
“All documents and necessary paperwork must be turned in on that day to give player agent Piding Tenorio and the SLLBI board time to prepare them before the season opens,” Jones added.
They will receive copies of the team rosters and other necessary documents that will prove the player’s age from 9am to 12nn at the Ada Gym pavilion.
The SLLBI is aiming to open the season with one Big League game on Jan. 15.
