Saipan Lions roar their way to Guam

Twenty-five members of the Lions Clubs International District 204 Region 2 attended the 27th anniversary inauguration of district governor Fely Angel and the installation of cabinet officers and committee chairpersons for the Lion Year 2019-2020 at the Chamorro Ballroom, Pacific Star Resort & Spa in Guam last Sept. 14.

Guam Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio attended the inauguration. The Korean delegation was headed by Sumie Kuba and Malaysia’s was headed by Dr. Datuk Naga.

The delegation from the Philippines was headed by George Ong Tan.

The Saipan delegation was led by Saturnino Banting, Annamae Adaza, Eden Mercado, Beth Mendiola, Ladyvir Canape, Arceli Lizama, and John Oliver Gonzales.

Emelio Uy was the overall chairperson of the event. The event was hosted by the District Global Leadership Team.

“We are glad that we were able to join the installation and meet and have a fellowship with members and guests. The committees did an awesome job” said Mario Mayuga.

The Region 2 delegates also performed a dance-and-song number during the program. After the event, some members attended the Global Action Team luncheon training and fellowship at the same venue the next day.

Next year’s convention on March 7-8 will be hosted by Saipan.
