Saipan Chamber meeting today

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its monthly general membership meeting today, March 4, at the Charley’s Cabaret of Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

The meeting’s guest speakers are Division of Customs director Jose C. Mafnas, who will speak about the challenges his division has been experiencing at Customs and how a proposed measure, House Bill 21-104 SD1, works to alleviate those challenges; and Gloria Cavanagh, president of the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, who will be providing updates on hotel room occupancy, measures hotels are taking to stay afloat, and the overall state of the CNMI tourism industry due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Lunch will be served at 11:30am and the meeting will begin promptly at noon. The luncheon fee is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members.
