Saipan Alliance is newest Lions Club
The Saipan Alliance Lions Club is the newest member of District 204, Region 2 of the Lions Clubs International. SALC is waiting for its charter number and has already set its charter night on June 4.
Lions Club membership is only by invitation and 22 individuals have accepted the invite to form SALC, according to Centennial Club organizer Ladyvir Canape.
Dannie Robles was elected as the first SALC president with Al Cabael and Jun Alcizo III voted as the secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Most of the SALC’s 22 members attended an orientation night held at Dulili in Garapan last March 12, a Saturday.
Past district governor Goring Duenas, PDG Romy Angel, and first vice district governor-elect Arturo Navarro were the orientation night speakers.
The Saipan Marianas Lions Club is sponsoring the SALC with Flor Miranda and Lolit Velasco as the guiding Lions.
The Saipan Filipino-American Lions Club, Saipan Unity Lions Club, Tinian Marianas Lions Club, and the Rota Marianas Lions Club are also part of District 204, Region 2 of the Lions Clubs International.
District 204, Region 2 has recently organized a Health Fair and has also repaired and repainted several bus stops last month.
