SAEF students win big in NJFL
The first National Junior Forensic League Competition for this school year, held on Oct. 8, 2011, at Marianas High School, was well-attended by many students of different schools. The following Saturday, Oct. 15, was the Math Court Competition at Hopwood Junior High School.
Students of the Saipan American Education Foundation were among the participants of both competitions, with the school’s 6th, 7th, and 8th graders doing their best to outshine the other competitors.
Their efforts were not in vain, with Jd Faye Pascua going home with the first place ribbon in Original Oratory and Karen Fajardo landing second place in the same category.
Avelyne Alvarez and Kristine Fajardo got second place in Duo Interpretation, together with Jd Faye Pascua and Kyle Villegas. Third place went to Candice Aldan and Karen Fajardo.
Kyle Villegas won third honors in Poetry, while Caleb Rocher-Light placed fifth in Prose.
The school’s Math Court winners are Miki Angel Takayama, who won first place, while Caleb Rocher-Light placed fourth.
“Congratulations to all the winners. You just have made our school and your family so proud of you!” (PR)
