Russian FAM tour visits Saipan, Tinian, Rota
The Marianas Visitors Authority and Asiana Airlines recently hosted a familiarization tour of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota for 20 tour agents and media representatives from Russia.

The five-day tour from Sept. 22 to 29 allowed participants from the Far East Russia cities of Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Sakhalin to become better acquainted with visitor attractions and amenities in this beach resort destination renowned for its natural beauty.
“Our challenge in fiscal year 2015 is that direct charter flights from Russia have been suspended indefinitely because of Russia-side airline woes,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “However, there is still strong demand for our destination in Far East Russia, and we are still receiving Russian visitors through connecting flights in Seoul. This FAM tour will enable these Russian agents to develop three-island tour packages with support from Asiana Airlines.”
While on Saipan, the tour group took an island tour and an ATV tour and a special tour of the Grotto with Marianas Trekking. They also conducted several hotel inspections and took in a sunset dinner cruise, the SandCastle Saipan dinner show, and a lunch and tour of Managaha. The group also took detailed island tours and hotel tours on Tinian and Rota. (MVA)
