Repairs of the ruptured 16-inch main waterline which caused temporary water service interruption was completed yesterday, according to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.

Water distribution is expected to resume at 6am this morning, said acting executive director Gary Camacho, after more than a day of interrupted service.

“The hardworking crew of CUC worked all night to finish the repairs,” Camacho said.

Last Tuesday, customers in Chalan Laulau, Beach Road, and Middle Road started experiencing temporary water service interruption resulting from a ruptured 16-inch water main below As Terlaje Hill in Chalan Monsignor Guerrero.

CUC Water Personnel discovered the line break when water began to seep out of the pavement along the innermost eastbound lane just below As Terlaje Hill.

Both eastbound lanes of Chalan Monsignor Guerrero were closed to traffic as crews excavated the site.

Customers in the village of Gualo Rai, on the other hand, will experience temporary water service interruption beginning today, Thursday, March 3.

CUC said the interruption will be from 8 am to 5 pm and is due to USA Fanter installing new pipes on the Gualo Rai Tank.

CUC said water service hours are expected to return back to regular schedule tomorrow.
