Rotary welcomes 2 new members
The Rotary Club of Saipan inducted two new members into its ranks last Jan. 14 during the club’s regular Tuesday meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s restaurant.

The new members are Marvin Deleon Guerrero, who is assistant vice president and branch manager at Bank Pacific, and Hiroko Stewart, who used to work for Dow Chemical.
President-elect Sonya Dancoe, who will take over the Rotary Club of Saipan next year, helped affix club-specific pins on the new members’ lapels to acknowledge them as official members.
Stewart
Stewart, who just retired after 30 years with Dow Chemical, said she looks forward to being a Rotary member and the chance to help with the club’s international campaign against polio and providing clean water in other countries.
“After 30 years of working, this is a great time to join the club so that I can shift my focus on the community,” said Stewart.
Deleon Guerrero, on the other hand, thanked Rotary Club of Saipan president Maricia Ayuyu and Rotary Club of Saipan officers for their warm welcome and for making his membership official.
“It’s such an honor to be a member of this prestigious organization,” said Deleon Guerrero. “I look forward to further networking with other business professionals.”
Deleon Guerrero has been with Bank Pacific for three years now but has been in the banking industry for four years. He’s also a musician outside of his day job.
The Rotary Club of Saipan also had two guest speakers last Tuesday: Bishop Ryan P. Jimenez and Dave Bucher, a teacher at Kagman High School.
Dave Bucher talks about potential exchange program with Juno, Alaska, and Saipan at the Rotary Club of Saipan’s regular Tuesday meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s restaurant. (Justine Nauta)
