Rotary takes on maintenance of airport signage

The Rotary Club of Saipan has taken on the responsibility of maintaining the airport sign leading to the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport, which has been unkempt for many years now.

Saipan Rotary Club president Marcia Ayuyu said the club officially took on the responsibility of maintaining the welcome sign since late 2019.

Ayuyu said that the sign is the first thing tourists see when they arrive and it shows how much the island appreciates their visit.

“It’s really to just…thank them for coming and to encourage them to continue to visit our islands,” she said.

Ayuyu said they have cleaned up the sign, installed lights, and are working on the landscaping.

The Rotary Club of Saipan is also working on putting up a sign at the Beach Road intersection by Atkins Kroll-Toyota.

“We’re going to do this at the intersection; it’s a welcome sign. I want that to be really visible with our guests,” she said.
