Rotary inducts new officers

The Rotary Club Saipan inducted a new set of officers led by Sonya Dancoe last Tuesday night at Surf Club Saipan.

Dancoe was inducted Rotary president, along with Sean Ficke as president-elect, Wendell Posadas as vice president, Irene Nepomuceno Holl as secretary, Ryan Yulo as treasurer, Curtis Dancoe as sergeant-at-arms, director Jessy Loomis for Club Service, director Ivan llmov for International Service, director Joseph Torres for Vocational Service, director Joann Aquino for Community Service, director Gregory Borja for New Generation, and director Das Krishnan for Rotary Foundation.

The newly indicted officers will serve in the Rotary years 2020-2021.

Krishnan was also recognized as the Rotarian of the Year during the installation event.

“This year, my goals are very simple. First is to bring innovative way to be a more vibrant and active club and second is to implement more sustainable projects and programs that aim to foster peace and youth involvement. …We will also mentor, promote, and bring young leaders to the forefront,” said Dancoe.

She also promised that, together with the newly installed officers and directors, she will work with the district group leader to collaborate and share plans for this year and other long range goals.

“It is exciting to see many new faces in our club and I am proud to serve alongside a group of amazing members ready to serve as officers and director,” Dancoe said. “I call each Rotarian to join me in unison, show our Rotary spirit and let us put the gears in motions with great vigor to promote the ideals of Rotary. I would like to ask people of the CNMI and our visitors to be courteous to others by keeping our island peaceful and beautiful so we can continue to do more in our community.”

The Rotary Club of Saipan is celebrating 52 years of service in the CNMI this year.
