On Saturday, Aug. 15, the Rotary Club of Saipan distributed 300 McDonald’s Happy Meals to shelters in Tanapag, Kagman, and the Man’amko Center. Also, Dickerson & Quinn donated Peanut Butter Crackers and fruit snacks, while Micronesia Brokers handed out Colgate toothpaste and Lifebuoy body soap.

“It’s about the children! To see them smiling means a lot to me,” said club president Curtis Dancoe. “The support of humanitarian assistance that we are receiving is at an international level, with clubs from Guam, Japan and Virginia making subscriptions and contributions to fulfill the needs of the victims who suffered a loss when Typhoon Soudelor hit our islands.”

Rotarians visited the shelter to hand out goodies and sing songs to residents.

Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. (Rotary)
