The visit was initially scheduled last August but got pushed back due to Typhoon Soudelor.
“The governor assigned to this district comes out, he personally meets every single club to find out about the projects and makes sure that we adhere to the bylaws,” Rotary Club of Saipan president Curtis Dancoe said.
In their board of directors meeting, Dancoe said they got approval for their upcoming projects ion the island.
“I presented to him today (Monday) the long-term recovery,” Dancoe said. “He approved the distribution of school supplies to our middle school and high school.”
Dancoe added that the District 2750 raised ¥3M or about $25,000 that will be used for recovery efforts on Saipan.
Another project that they discussed is a student exchange program that will be done in the winter.
