The Rotary Club of Saipan welcomed a new member into its ranks last Tuesday during its meeting at the Hyatt Regency Club Saipan.
Saipan Rotary Club president Greg Borja and president-elect Marcia Ayuyu inducted Irene N. Holl of Bridge Capital LLC as the club’s new member.
“You are beginning a great adventure in leadership, friendship, service to your community, and to your fellow man. You have been invited to membership and the Saipan Rotary Club accepted you as a person of good character, high ethical standard, a person who has the heart for service and…as a leader in the community,” Borja told Holl during her induction.
Ayuyu sponsored Holl into the club.
“You have been invited to join the Rotary Club but it will be through your actions that you will become a Rotarian,” Borja said. “You will be provided many opportunities through our Rotary Club and district to enhance and expand your professional and personal skills, and these opportunities can provide great value to you.”
Holl was reportedly with the Rotary Club of Saipan back in 2008 before leaving when she went off-island.
“It was a good three years,” she said. “I have been a Rotarian for the most of my life.”
In Cebu, Philippines, where she hails from, Holl was a member of the Rotaract before moving to Saipan.
“I was the first outstanding new Rotarian when I joined [in 2008],” she said. “I have been advocating for guest workers and was given the chance to speak once here in the Saipan Rotary Club,” she said.
