New officers and members of Rotary Club Saipan will be sworn in and inducted at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan tonight.

Curtis Dancoe, who will be sworn in as club president, said that they are excited for this coming Rotary year.

Dancoe has been with the Rotary Club for over 15 years and has been part of three different clubs including Rotary Club of Northern Guam.

In his new term, Dancoe is bringing back the president-elect position which will be filled by Ivan Ilnov.

Aside from them, new officers to be sworn in are Brian Clayton as vice president, Marcia Ayuyu as secretary, Thomas Thornburg as treasurer, and Wayne Gillespie as sergeant-at-arms.

“We’re really excited. These are members that have been with the club for two or more years and served in the capacity of a directorship and they moved up to become officers,” Dancoe said.

Directors for the new Rotary year include Larry Philips, Elitza Stoilova, Wendell Posadas, Richard Cody, Sapuro Rayphand, and Ben Babauta.

According to Dancoe, the new officers and directors “have been committed.”

They will be sworn in by Superior Court Associate Judge B. Perry Inos. The gavel will also be passed on to Dancoe from outgoing president Richard Cody.

The club will also be inducting a new member, bringing the current number of Rotary members to 41.

“We’re really excited with our membership retention and we will continue to grow our membership,” Dancoe said.

Aside from Rotary, members of Rotaract and Interact Clubs will also be present in the ceremony.

The Rotary will also be awarding this year’s Rotarian of the Year and Citizen of the Year.

Dancoe will also talk about the Rotary Club’s new theme for their new year which is “Be a gift to the world.”
