The Rotary Club of Saipan inducted two new members into its ranks last Tuesday during the club’s regular Tuesday meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s restaurant. The new members are Docomo Pacific’s general manager Pauline Johnson and enterprise manager Joe Torres.

Johnson and Torres were sponsored by Rotary Club president Marcia Ayuyu.

In his speech at the ceremony, Rotary Club of Saipan director of International Service Greg Borja said, “You have been invited to the membership and the Rotary Club of Saipan has accepted you as a person of good character and ethical standards.”

“We welcome your strong hearts and service,” Borja added.

He challenged the two to invite another person to join the Rotary Club of Saipan within the next three months. “Becoming a new Rotarian is only surpassed by sponsoring a new member,” he said.

Ayuyu told the new members: “When you shake the hand of one Rotarian, you are in touch with 1.2 million more. Together, we are working to enrich you and serve to help develop communities and promote peace.”

Johnson and Torres promised to do their best for the club and the CNMI community. “We can extend a hand if the Rotary Club or the community is in need of a helping hand,” Torres said.
